UNIARTE supports indigeneous Bolivian artisans living in the Chiquitania region to improve their livelihoods. They tell stories using their background cultural identity through handicrafts with a strong sense of color.

With an abundance of flora in Bolivia, local women are learning how to turn botanicals into profitable businesses producing and selling everything from medicinal tinctures to shampoos and syrups. These women botanical producers have formed a co-operative called APAMA, bringing together women from across the country to help them expand their sales, maximize plant production and improve their overall business skills. Through the co-op, the women can learn from one another and provide support to each other.

Con un 77% de población por debajo de los 24 años, El Alto es la ciudad más jóven de Bolivia. De igual forma, cuenta con un alto indice de menores habitando en las calles en condiciones de riesgo sobre todo para las mujeres. ENDA es una organización que trabaja la atención de jóvenes y niñas en situación de vulnerabilidad promoviendo un espacio de acogida y formación como medio de reinserción social y económica. Las mujeres residen durante 1 a 3 meses en el que se trabaja de manera coordinada junto a psicólogos y familiares.

With 77% of its population under the age of 24, El Alto is the youngest city in Bolivia. On the outskirts of La Paz, El Alto also counts the highest number of minors living in the streets in difficult conditions, in particular girls who resort to prostitution to survive. Enda El Alto supports young girls by providing shelter, medical care and psychological guidance. Their socio-economic integration is also a crucial pillar of ongoing initiatives: the NGO ensures that the girls attend school, tries to help them restore ties with their families, and offers job prospects via two workshops, bakery-pastry and handicraft (weaving and postcards).

En los últimos años, Bolivia ha crecido considerablemente en el ámbito económico, este impacto ha tenido una expanción exponencial en el plano de costumbres alimenticias, los indices de problemas diabéticos se han multiplicado y la FAO sostiene que el pais atraviesa por un problema de inseguridad alimentaria que afecta sobretodo a las personas con menores recursos. CEPROSI trabaja desde hace mas de 30 años a traves de la reflexión de la Salud Integral, desde 2015 viene proyectando un programa de seguridad alimentaria mediante el uso de huertos urbanos familiares en las zonas periurbanas de La Paz y El Alto.

In recent years, Bolivia has grown considerably in the economic sphere, this has an exponential impact in the context of food habits. In the last years the diabetic problems have multiplied and the FAO maintains that the country is going through a problem of food insecurity where people with fewer resources receive more impact. CEPROSI is a local NGO working in La Paz for more than 30 years through the reflection of Integral Health. Since 2015 it has been working a food security program through the use of family urban gardens in the peri-urban neighborhoods of La Paz and El Alto.
